Looking for ways to see more savings and improve your home’s energy efficiency? The new CleanBC rebates might be your answer. They’re designed to give you important savings and financial breaks to make it easier to get a new heat pump. Here is what these rebates offer and how to get them.
The CleanBC Heat Pump Rebate Is Extremely Valuable
Making the switch to a heat pump has the potential to save you up to $24,000 with the new CleanBC rebate options. The rebate program is open for applications and it has been expanded in order to increase the size of the rebates and allow more middle-income families to qualify. With higher income limits, options for electrical upgrades, and eligibility in more communities than ever before your family may qualify for great rebates even if it didn’t in the past.
Now, a family of four can make up to $185,620 pre-tax and still be eligible for a rebate of up to $10,500. That’s a big change from the previous income threshold, which was $114,647.
Rebates have gone up for families making under $87,350, who are now eligible for $16,000 in rebates instead of $9,500. It’s possible to register for the program to see your eligibility before you decide on getting a heat pump, so you will know whether you qualify and how much you would receive. The rebate amount would come directly off the contractor’s final invoice after installation of your heat pump was complete.
Eligibility
To be eligible for these rebates you need to meet income requirements, pay your own energy bills, and live in a townhouse or rowhouse, mobile or manufactured home, duplex, or single-family home. For some of the rebate tiers, the assessed value of the home also matters, as these particular rebates from CleanBC are currently only available for homes with an assessed value of $1,230,000 or less.

Upgrading Your Home Can Offer Peace of Mind
There are many reasons to upgrade your home. Saving money on your energy bills is one of them, as is having more comfort in your home year round. Additionally, more energy-efficient options are generally better for the environment, which means you can do your part to protect it while getting benefits for your family and finances at the same time.
Another big reason to upgrade your heat pump, electrical panel, and other areas of your home is for the increased peace of mind these updates provide. Making changes is about more than just money, and when you have the right equipment for your home you know that it will work well, last a long time, and help you spend less while feeling better in your indoor spaces. Add to that the fact that you will be helping out the planet, and it is hard not to feel good about the update options.
